چکیده
The fuel debris generated in the accident at Tokyo Electric Power Company’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Station has been subject to water and ionizing radiation for years will be until retrieval. Therefore, we investigated potential degradation of this caused by H2O2, which is oxidant major impact from radiolysis. We performed leaching experiments on different kinds simulated comprising U, Fe, Cr, Ni, Zr an aqueous H2O2 solution. Chemical analysis solution showed that U dissolution was induced H2O2. Raman after revealed uranyl peroxides were formed surface debris. peroxide formation observed most These results demonstrate are possible alteration products reaction. However, sample main U-containing phase a U-Zr oxide solid much less no signal peroxides. Comparison these indicates with UO2 improves stability against

The Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear accident brought together compromised irradiated fuel and large amounts of seawater in a high radiation field. Based on newly acquired thermochemical data for a series of uranyl peroxide compounds containing charge-balancing alkali cations, here we show that nanoscale cage clusters containing as many as 60 uranyl ions, bonded through peroxide and hydroxide bridges,...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Simultaneous reduction of arsenic(V) and uranium(VI) by mackinawite: role of uranyl arsenate precipitate formation.
Uranium (U) and arsenic (As) often occur together naturally and, as a result, can be co-contaminants at sites of uranium mining and processing, yet few studies have examined the simultaneous redox dynamics of U and As. This study examines the influence of arsenate (As(V)) on the reduction of uranyl (U(VI)) by the redox-active mineral mackinawite (FeS). As(V) was added to systems containing 47 o...
